Swish Golf (early) updates

Every update to Swish Golf (early), newest first. Now on v0.8.0, updated Oct 26, 2026.

October 2026

v0.8.0

The course reacts, a scorecard worth keeping, and a day in the studio

  • Hit a tree and it sways like soft clay while leaves drift down. The ball squashes when it lands, the flag wobbles when a ball drops in, a splash throws up a crown of water and deep rough parts round the ball.
  • The end of a round shows your best stats as clay chips (longest drive, fairways, greens, putts, birdies or a great escape) beside a trophy, rosette or medal, and the scorecard stamps each hole gold, green or red with a running total.
  • The light runs from a cool morning on the 1st to a golden late afternoon on the 18th, and the soft focus follows the ball.
  • Drives land with a tall first hop and a small second one, then roll. Every club still carries exactly as far as before.
  • Fixes: the camera no longer starts inside a tree, a ball that clips the flagstick bounces off instead of sticking to it, a ball under low branches gets a free drop, the 11th green is a little bigger and grass no longer pokes through the picnic blanket.
v0.7.1

A livelier ball: low skipping drives, approaches that bite, truer putts

  • Drives land with a low skip instead of a pop-up and run on down the fairway.
  • Approach shots hop twice and bite, then roll a few yards toward the flag; wedges check up.
  • Putts roll smoother and truer, and a putt racing at the cup lips out round the rim instead of dropping off the flagstick. Sand stops the ball dead.
  • Every club still carries exactly as far as before.
v0.7.0

A living title screen, a landing view with instant replay, and a landmark on every hole

  • The game opens low and close on your golfer at the first tee, with the course soft behind. Flip through the four golfers with the arrows and each one greets you in their own way.
  • Approach shots end on a low, still view beside where the ball comes down, so you see it drop, hop, check and roll toward the flag. Long drives finish on a view from behind where they stopped, and the camera no longer whips round as the ball flies over it.
  • After an eagle, a hole in one, a chip-in, a long putt or an ON FIRE drive, a Replay button appears for a few seconds. Tap it to watch the shot again from three angles; tap again to skip.
  • Every hole has its own clay landmark that matches its name: a duck house, standing stones, a swaying clay serpent, a jetty with a bobbing rowing boat, a clock tower, a picnic, a lighthouse, a waterfall, a windsock and a weathervane that turn with the wind, and a golden trophy on the 18th.
  • The gallery's "ooh" and cheer, frogs, ducks, chirping birds, a soft outdoor bed and a "Clonk!" off the benches are now on for everyone.
v0.6.0

A first-shot coach, golfers who react, and a clay gallery round the greens

  • On your very first shot a clay hand shows the swing on the grass: swipe down, flick up. The AIM buttons wiggle under a "Turn" tag until you use them, and your first putt gets its own short demo. Each lesson shows once.
  • Pause now has How to play: five picture cards for the swing, aim, clubs and spin, the map and putting.
  • Your golfer glances down the fairway, waggles the club and fidgets while you line up, watches the ball fly, pumps a fist after a big drive, and puts their hands on their head after a splash. Each of the four golfers does it their own way.
  • Benches, ball washers and parked carts by the tees, yardage posts along the fairways, rakes by the bunkers, and a clay clubhouse with a scoreboard behind the 18th green.
  • Little clay spectators stand behind the greens on the short holes and on 9 and 18. They clap for a par or a birdie, lean in when you nearly hole one, and duck if your ball comes their way.
v0.5.0

Hole flyovers, clay confetti, frogs and fish, and a sculptor's workbench

  • Each hole opens with the camera flying from the green back along the fairway to your tee, behind a smaller hole card. Tap anywhere to tee off at once.
  • A birdie throws a burst of clay confetti out of the cup; an eagle throws a bigger one with a gold ribbon, and a hole in one gets its own. An ON FIRE drive now leaves a trail of warm clay crumbs.
  • More wildlife: frogs on lily pads that plop into the pond when a ball lands near, jumping fish, dragonflies over the reeds, butterflies over the rough, rabbits that sit up to watch you swing, squirrels that run up the nearest tree and songbirds that perch on the flag.
  • Jars of clay, a pot of paintbrushes, a rolling pin, sculpting tools and clay crumbs now sit round the board on a cutting mat, with a shelf behind. The pines are smooth rounded clay.
  • Smoother on phones: fewer shaders to prepare at the start and less to draw each frame. The club now clears every golfer's head at the top of the backswing.
v0.4.0

Solid trees, saved best scores, ON FIRE drives and more hand-made clay

  • Every tree, pine and bush on the course now stops the ball: clip a canopy and the ball drops out of it, hit a trunk and it glances off. The fairways and the line from the tee stay clear.
  • Your best round for 3 holes, the front 9 and all 18 is saved and shown on the title screen, with your best on every hole on the scorecard and a "New best!" when you beat it.
  • Make two birdies without a bogey in between and your next drive is ON FIRE: it glows, leaves a trail of embers, flies 15% farther and ignores the wind. One shot only.
  • More hand-made clay: thumb-pressed turf with rolled seams, a thick rolled clay edge round the board, grainy raked bunkers with lumpy lips, soft round tops on the big trees and knitted jumpers on the golfers.
v0.3.0

Aim buttons, a course full of wildlife and four golfers to pick from

  • Aim buttons: an AIM button on each side of the screen. Tap to nudge the aim, hold to turn it. Dragging sideways on the ground still works, and your first three shots show how to aim and swing.
  • A fuller course: short and tall grass in patches through the rough, reeds, cattails and lily pads round the ponds, round clay trees (some in autumn colours), bushes, mushrooms, logs, stumps and rocks.
  • Wildlife: clay songbirds flock overhead and hop in the rough, rabbits sit up and nibble, squirrels dash about, ducks paddle the ponds with their ducklings, and a hedgehog snuffles along. Land a ball near them and they scatter (the hedgehog curls into a ball).
  • Four golfers: Barnaby the bear and Pip are rounder and softer, and Colonel Hendershot (a walrus in a tartan tam) and Mina Marigold (in her yellow bucket hat) join them. Pick yours with the arrows on the title screen.
  • Hole 15 is now a real island green in a round lake: all carry from the tee.
  • The title screen is ready to tap sooner after the game opens.
v0.2.0

A real one-finger swing, a clay bear golfer and a tabletop clay course

  • A new swing: swipe down anywhere to take the club back (the golfer winds up with your finger), then flick up through the ball. How far you pull sets the power, a straight flick hits it straight, a lazy flick loses distance, and pulling past full gives a power shot that is harder to keep straight. No more timing needle.
  • A chip after every swing (Pure!, Power shot!, Pulled left, Big slice, Too slow) and your finger's trail, coloured by how straight it was.
  • Meet Barnaby Burl, a stout clay bear in a flat cap and a knitted vest, with bead eyes and a big grin.
  • The holes are now hand-pressed clay on a sculptor's workbench: clay turf, tiered clay pine trees, clay water, warm studio light and a miniature-camera blur.
v0.1.0

First playable preview: an 18-hole clay golf course

  • Clayhill Links: 18 holes (par 72) with creeks, lakes, an island green, sand traps and dog-legs, all in colorful clay. Play 3 holes, the front 9 or all 18.
  • One finger to swing: pull down on the swing button for power and let go when the needle is in the green. Drag sideways anywhere to aim. The game picks your club; the arrows change it.
  • All 14 clubs with real distances (driver about 270 yards, 7 iron about 172), plus wind, backspin and sidespin. Rough and sand cost you distance.
  • The ball dents the clay wherever it lands, and a rolling ball leaves a groove.
  • Putting shows a dotted guide for how the green breaks. Clay sounds for every drive, chip, splash and putt.
